FAQ

Important aspects of the ZHAW SML Career Profiler

What is the ZHAW SML Career Profiler?

The ZHAW SML Career Profiler is a survey on career preferences and career entry that can be taken by university students and recent graduates.

  • It supports students in preparing for their professional careers. The Career Profiler aims to make students realize what is particularly important to them in relation to their future jobs.
  • It provides the Career Services Team with insight into students’ ideas concerning their career paths, and it enables them to draw conclusions on how to further adapt the products and services offered by Career Services to meet students’ needs.
  • From spring 2021, students will benefit from free consultations to determine their current situation based on their Career Profiler evaluation report.

How is the data of the participants collected?

The data is collected anonymously using an online survey. Participation is voluntary. After completing the questionnaire, participants can access their personal evaluation via a personal, not identifiable code. (Go to the evaluation report).

What happens with the data?

The information is collected anonymously and not passed on to third parties. The answers are evaluated by Career Services anonymously and for statistical purposes in order to continuously improve its products and services. From spring 2021, participants can discuss their results with a Career Services counsellor in a free personal interview. The data is stored on a Switch server in data centers in Switzerland. To guarantee data security, the entire infrastructure is regularly maintained (updates to service infrastructure, Umbraco, firewall, etc.).
